The Core Facility for Research was established in 2006 based on funding by the University Infractructure programm III of the Austrian government. It started operating in Spring 2007.
* The Core Facility enables high quality studies in basic and clinical sciences and will support to increase the scientific output of the University of Veterinary Medicine
* The Core Facility strives to provide a vibrant and stimulating environment that fosters communication and cooperation across different scientific disciplines, enabling synergies between like-minded investigators to be identified and further developed
* The Core Facility functions as a multi-user resource dedicated to the development and application of various higher throughput technologies to aid in the discovery of biological markers. These types of technologies are quite expensive to operate and maintain, making it difficult for individual laboratories to invest in this type of infrastructure. The model for the Core Facility is to be a one-stop shop for these technologies providing researchers access to both the tools and our experienced staff. A central goal is to provide high quality data in a timely fashion and excellent customer service in a collaborative spirit with our customers.
* In addition to the ongoing application of existing technologies, the Core Facility is also actively engaged in the development and testing of new technologies as needed. The combination of application and development enables the Core Facility to remain a leader in helping researchers take a complete systems biology approach to their science.
