SmartMask polysomnography tool for horses

The aim of the project is to develop a wearable for real-time electroencephalographic monitoring of horses. The device shall record and monitor EEG, ECG, EOG, and EMG of horses under general anaesthesia, under sedation and resting horses without chemical restraint. Analysis of spectral frequencies will be done automatically and in real-time. Thus, the successful implementation would allow innovative new diagnostic modalities for the practising veterinarian. Horses' state of pain could be identified earlier than with traditional methods and individualised pain medication would be made possible. Similarly, the quality of anaesthesia could be further improved by using the data obtained from the "smart mask".
