Gene therapy in veterinary medicine (report)

The project develops an ethical expert opinion on different approaches of gene therapy in veterinary medicine in three steps: (1) The first aim is to describe the current status quo of the research. (2) Experts working in the field of veterinary gene therapy will be interviewed in an online study. This so-called "Ethical Delphi" will achieve the following objectives: (a) Important goods and values in the debate on gene therapy in veterinary medicine will be identified. (b) Desirable or undesirable future scenarios from the point of view of relevant stakeholders will be developed. (c) On the basis of these objectives, recommendations for political decision-makers will be worked out. (3) The results of the "Ethical Delphi" are the starting point for the elaboration of the ethical expert opinion.
