Improvement of supportive biodiversity actions in the agricultural landscape

Basis for increasing biodiversity in ecosystems of agricultural landscapes is to improve habitats. Field experiments in the years 2202 and 2021 in three geologic and agricultural different landscapes in Bavaria should show the potential of beetlebanks for the improvement of biodiversity. Insects, brown hares and ground nesting birds are included as "flagship-species". Beetlebanks are complex to build, but they provide good living conditions for insects due to little disturbances. Studies show that especially for brown hares this is essential during breeding, as it is for ground breeding birds (Study of GCD, Mohr in prep.).
