SARS-CoV-2 specific antibody tests for immunity testing in the human population

The rapid spread of COVID-19 infections suggests that many infections by SARS-CoV-2 cause no or verly little clinical symptoms. But also such unnoticed infections can cause an immune response. The rapid identification of SARS-CoV-2 specific antibodies is of importance to identify individuals working in health care, since such persons might be already protected from the disease. The identification of SARS-CoV-2 specific antibodies will also contribute to evaluate the level of herd immunity reached in the population. This an important piece of information for the further planning of protective measures. Based on already published information we aim to establish such an ELISA test for the identification of SARS-CoV-2 specific antibodies in human sera.
