Non-invasive monitoring of steroid hormone production

Abstract
By monitoring steroid hormone metabolites in urine and faeces it is possible to measure changes in steroid production. The aim of this project is to monitor such changes in different species in order to evaluate reproductive function (e.g.: oestrous cycle, pregnancy) and disturbances. Especially in animals, where blood samples cannot be obtained, theses methods are the only possibility to evaluate endocrine events.
