Abstract:
Cani:Feligeran® (Alvetra Werfft, Vienna, Austria) is a feeding supplement for convalescent and older dogs, which is recommended for the additional treatment of afflictions of old age, arthropathies, skin and heart diseases as well as during anastasis. This product contains Allium sativum, Crataegus, Panax ginseng, Trigonella foenum-graecum, Urtica dioica, Spirulina algae, L-carnitine, organic zinc compounds, selen and vitamin E. Those are supposed to support the dog‘s body functions and countervail age and illness-related changes, in order to ameliorate the dog’s vitality. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of supplementing Cani:Feligeran® on vitality, general condition, appetite, coat, desire for action, clarity of eyes, body weight and alertness of the dog.
