Abstract:
In the scope of this thesis I am going to outline the situation of natural waste and its by-products in Vienna and its surroundings in Lower Austria. In due course it was possible to get in touch with various companies, the aim was to get information about the amount and the kind of waste that is accumulating. Unfortunately, only few of these companies were willing to give away the necessary information. In order to get further details, I have thus widened my focus to Austria as such. In addition, internet-references were taken into account. Hence, it could be proven that the natural waste products referred to in the literature are also accumulated in the Viennese area. And these products are used in the feeding of farm animals. Additionally, this paper shows that further resources are not yet sufficiently used in the feeding of farm animals – resources, such as the sugar beet’s leaves, old bakery or biogenous waste that is emitted via industry or trade
