Osteoarthritis is a wide spread problem in dogs. About 20% percent of the canine population is affected. There are many ways to handle osteoarthritis. Aquatic therapy seems to be beneficial because water provides a helpful environment for the treatment of this disease. The problem of this theory is the lack of evidence based literature for hydrotherapy on dogs. This is also the reason why we reach back to humane studies. The aim of this diploma work is a research of the available humane studies, which occupy with the therapy of osteoarthritis via hydrotherapy. These studies should be divided into four different classes of evidence, after the rules of the Cochrane Musculoskeletal Review Group (SANTESSO et al., 2006).
