Abstract:
Injuries and disorders of the tendon are common in dogs and horses as well as other animals. Due to the anatomically exposed location of the tendons, blunt traumas are highly likely in the course of car accidents or falls. Furthermore, lacerations may lead to partial or total ruptures. Sports activities such as Agility, uncontrolled movements, jumping competitions, horse races, and carriage rides may involve injuries with lacerations and contusions. In humans, tendon injuries occur frequently. Achilles tendon injuries are one of the most common leisure and professional sports injuries. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to search for previous literature on the subject of ultrasound therapy in tendon injuries. The studies found were then classified into evidence-based classes according to modified TUGWELL et al. (2004) guidelines and the efficacy of this treatment was evaluated.
