Abstract:
The aim of this study was to discover the effect of the red KTGfpT, which was placed on the M. brachiocephalicus and the M. extensor carpi radialis, to four angles of the head-neck in walk and trot. For this purpose ten horses from the Veterinary Medicine University of Vienna were kinematicly examined on a treadmill. For the following recording and the evaluation later onthe measuring range was calibrated and the computersystem CORTEX® was prepared. Ten Eagle-Cameras with 1,3 mega pixel, wich makes 120 frames per second were placed around the treadmill to collect the data. For every record 26 markers were fixed on selected areas of the horses body. For this study only the markers from the head, neck and the wither were important. Three measurements with at least seven movement cycles were taken in both gaits. The fragmentation was made with the use of the marker of the left hoof. The records were done in walk and trot without Tape, with Tape and post Tape. The angles in the sagittal layer where calculated with coordinates of the x-and z-axes. Angle1 was defined with the Vector of the nose-forhead to the vertical. Angle2 was combined of the nose, forehead and C4. Angle3 was examined between the marker on the neck (C2-C4-C6) and Angle4 was composed of the wither and the neck markers C6-C4. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS (IBM®, Armonk, NY, USA). The normality of data was tested with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov-test and a significance with ANOVA with measurement repetition. The analysis showed no significance difference between without Tape, with Tape and post Tape. In future studies the mobility of the neck to the right and left side could be researched. Also a long time study with the KT fixed on the muscles for a longer periode of time and during treatment would be required to prove a potentional comparable difference between before and after treatment with KT.
