Abstract:
The total phenolic content is known to give information about the antioxidative activity of plants. In the context of this thesis 190 plants of the genus Origanum from 19 countries were collected and evaluated for their total phenolic content at the Institute for Animal Nutrition and Functional Plant Compounds of the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna. The aim of this work was to determine differences between the populations concerning the total phenolic content.
