Abstract:
Endoparasites, especially Toxocara canis and Isospora species, frequently cause health problems in puppies and young dogs, including poor growth and intestinal disorders. The four Isospora species, I. canis, I. ohioensis, I. neorivolta and I. burrowsi are known to be the causing agents of canine isosporosis. They are distributed worldwide. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of these gastrointestinal parasites in naturally infected puppies in the first weeks of life.
