Abstract:
Using DNA analyses based services and eye identification systems together with smart electronics will allow tracebackability for QA. DNA analyses will result in identification and verification of animals and products, paternity testing, screening of hereditary defects and genetic merit evaluation of farm animals. The eye identification system allows identification of animals "on the hoof". DNA analyses and eye identification are automatically linked in the database due to a radio frequency chip moulded into the tissue sampling biopsitags. The applications of the different techniques will be described.
